ജാനുവിനെ വിധിക്കാന്‍ നമ്മളാര്: സിവിക് ചന്ദ്രന്‍/അഭിമുഖം

 

ഇടതു-വലതു മുന്നണികള്‍ അവഗണിച്ചുവെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ച് പുതിയ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാര്‍ട്ടി രൂപീകരിച്ച് ബിജെപിക്കൊപ്പം ചേര്‍ന്ന ആദിവാസി മഹാസഭ നേതാവ് സി കെ ജാനുവിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ നീക്കത്തിലെ ശരിതെറ്റുകളെ കുറിച്ച് പ്രമുഖ രാഷ്ട്രീയ നിരീക്ഷന്‍ സിവിക് ചന്ദ്രനു

 എംകെ രാമദാസ്‌: ആദിവാസി ഗോത്രമഹാസഭ നേതാവ് സികെ ജാനു എന്‍ഡിഎ ഘടകക്ഷിയായി സുല്‍ത്താന്‍ ബത്തേരി മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍ നിന്നും മത്സരിക്കുകയാണ്. ജാനുവിന്റെ ഈ നീക്കത്തിന് എതിരെ വിവിധ മേഖലകളില്‍ നിന്ന് അഭിപ്രായം ഉയരുന്നുണ്ട്.

സിവിക് ചന്ദ്രന്‍: അവരെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം അവരെപ്പോലൊരാള്‍ നിയമസഭയിലുണ്ടാകുന്നത് നല്ലകാര്യമാണ്. അതിന് ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതും മുഖ്യധാരയില്‍ അവര്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതും അതില്‍ വലിയ കീഴടങ്ങല്‍ ഒന്നുമില്ല. ചില പ്രത്യേക കാലങ്ങളില്‍ ഫാസിസ്റ്റ് വിരുദ്ധ മൂവ് മെന്റുകളില്‍ എല്ലാവരും പങ്കെടുക്കണമെന്നില്ല. ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ ഇത് കാണാം. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമര കാലത്ത് അംബേദ്കര്‍ ചെയ്തത് അതാണ്. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമരം കൊടുമ്പിരി കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ അദ്ദേഹം ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരുമായി ചര്‍ച്ച നടത്തി. കുമാരനാശാന്‍ വൈസ്രോയിയില്‍ നിന്ന് പട്ടും വളയും വാങ്ങി. കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റുകാരും ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. രണ്ടാം ലോക മഹായുദ്ധ കാലത്ത് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പട്ടാളത്തിലേക്ക് ആളെ ചേര്‍ക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്. നമ്മള്‍ പുറത്തു കടന്നാല്‍ അതില്‍പ്പെടാത്തവരേയും മനസ്സിലാക്കാന്‍ കഴിയും.

രാം: പാഠഭേദത്തിന്റെ നിലപാടെന്താണ്?

സിവിക്: നേരത്തെ രാജഗോപാല്‍ നിയമസഭയില്‍ എത്തട്ടേയെന്ന നിലപാട് പാഠഭേദം സ്വീകരിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇടതു വലതു മുന്നണികളുടെ ജനവിരുദ്ധത തന്നെയായിരുന്നു ഇതിന് കാരണം. ആര്‍ എസ് എസ്, കേരള കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ്, സിപിഐ തുടങ്ങിയ തല്ലിപ്പൊളികളെക്കാള്‍ ഭേദം ജനപിന്തുണയുള്ള പാര്‍ട്ടിയെന്ന നിലയില്‍ അവര്‍ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കണം എന്നതായിരുന്നു നിലപാട്. എന്നാല്‍ ഇത്തവണ വേണ്ടെന്ന് പാഠഭേദം തീരുമാനിച്ചു. സംവാദത്തിന്റെ ഘട്ടം കഴിഞ്ഞുവെന്നുള്ളതു കൊണ്ടും കേരളത്തിലെ മധ്യവര്‍ഗത്തെ അത് തെറ്റിദ്ധരിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഇടയുണ്ട് എന്നതുകൊണ്ടും സഹ്യപര്‍വതത്തിനു മുകളില്‍ നോ എന്‍ട്രിയെന്ന ബോര്‍ഡ് തൂക്കണമെന്നതാണ് ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ നിലപാട്. ജാനുവിന്റെ കാര്യം വ്യത്യസ്തമാണ്. അക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ അറുത്തുമുറിച്ചൊരു പ്രഖ്യാപനം നടത്തരുത്. ഗൗരിയമ്മയ്ക്കുശേഷം കേരളത്തിലെ പൊതുമണ്ഡലത്തിലേക്ക് സ്വന്തം നിലയില്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നു വന്ന ഏക സ്ത്രീയാണവര്‍. രാഷ്ട്രീയമായി ശരിയല്ലെങ്കില്‍ പോലും തെറ്റു ചെയ്യാനും അവരെ നമ്മള്‍ അനുവദിക്കണം.

രാം: വലിയ ഉല്‍കണ്ഠയാണ് ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നു വന്നത്. അവിടെയൊരു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രശ്‌നമില്ലേ

സിവിക്: ഗീതാനന്ദന് രാഷ്ട്രീയ ജന്മം നല്‍കിയത് ജാനുവാണ്. ജാനുവിനെ ഗീതാനന്ദന്‍ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതല്ല. പൊതുരംഗത്ത് പലരുടേയും ധാരണ ഗീതാനന്ദന്‍ ബുദ്ധി ഉപദേശിച്ചാണ് ജാനു ഉണ്ടായത് എന്നാണ്. ഞാന്‍ അതിനോട് യോജിക്കുന്നില്ല. ജാനുവിന്റെ നിഴലിലാണ് ഗീതാനന്ദന് പുനര്‍ജന്മം സാധ്യമായത്.

രാം: ജാനുവിന്റെ മത്സരം നിലപാട്, കാലം, സാധ്യത, ജനാധിപത്യം?

സിവിക്: കെ വേണു തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ മത്സരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹം എടുത്ത നിലപാടിനെ അത് ബാധിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. വേണു കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂരില്‍ ജയിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍ സാംസ്‌കാരിക മന്ത്രിയാകുമായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് കരുതുന്നവര്‍ ഇപ്പോഴുമുണ്ട്. അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നവരുണ്ട്. ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന്റെ സൈദ്ധാന്തികന്‍ എന്ന നിലയ്ക്കും മാധ്യമങ്ങളില്‍ ഇടപെടുന്നയാള്‍ എന്ന നിലയ്ക്കുമുള്ള വേണുവിന്റെ ശ്രമങ്ങളെ കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂര്‍ പരീക്ഷണം പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ല. അത്തരമൊരു പരീക്ഷണത്തില്‍ ജനാധിപത്യത്തില്‍ വലിയ സ്ഥാനമുണ്ട്. തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ പരാജയപ്പെടുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ ജാനുവിന്റെ തോല്‍വി നമ്മുടെ തോല്‍വിയാണ്. നമ്മള്‍ അവരെ തള്ളിപ്പറയുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ രാഷ്ട്രീയമായ ഹരാകിരിയാണ് ജാനുവിന്റേത്. അവര്‍ സ്വയം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്ന ഒന്നല്ലത്. നമ്മള്‍ അടിച്ചേല്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നതാണത്.

രാം: ജാനുവിന്റെ സ്വത്തമാണ് അവരെ വിമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നവരും ഉന്നയിക്കുന്നത്.

സിവിക്: സ്വത്വരാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ചിലര്‍ ബലിയാകണം എന്നത് മധ്യവര്‍ഗ്ഗ വ്യാമോഹമാണ്. ഗീതാനന്ദന്റെ പിന്‍സീറ്റ് ഡ്രൈവിങ്ങും യാതൊരു വികാരങ്ങളുമില്ലാത്ത നിര്‍ഗുണ പരബ്രഹ്മമായി ജാനുവിനെ പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നത് അവരാണ്. താന്‍ അങ്ങനെയല്ലെന്ന് ഒരു കുഞ്ഞിനെ ദത്തെടുത്ത് ജാനു തെളിയിച്ചു. താനൊരു മനുഷ്യ ജീവിയാണെന്ന് ജാനു പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പലപ്പോഴും ഇത് മനസ്സിലാകില്ല. വടക്കു കിഴക്ക് ഇറോം ശര്‍മ്മിള ഉയര്‍ത്തുന്ന പ്രശ്‌നമാണിത്. അവര്‍ പറയുന്നു, ഞാന്‍ ഒരു കോസിനുവേണ്ടി നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. നിങ്ങളാരും കൂടെയില്ല. ഞാനെന്തിനു ബലി കൊടുക്കണം. ഞാനൊരു മനുഷ്യ സ്ത്രീയല്ലേ. ആ നിലയ്ക്ക് എനിക്കും വികാരങ്ങളില്ലേ. എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്കും ഒരു ആണിന് പ്രവേശിച്ചു കൂടേ?.സാധാരണ ജീവിതം നയിക്കാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു കൂടേ? ഞാന്‍ ദേവതയല്ല.

ജാനുവിനെ വിലയിരുത്തുമ്പോള്‍ നമ്മുടെ മധ്യ വര്‍ഗ ആദര്‍ശവാദത്തിന്റെ ചാവേറായി ജാനുവിനെ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തരുത്. നമ്മള്‍ അതാണ് ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. മധ്യവര്‍ഗ ഐഡിയലിസത്തിന്റെ ചാവേറല്ല ജാനു. തെറ്റു ചെയ്യുകയാണെങ്കിലും അതിന് അവര്‍ക്ക് അവകാശമുണ്ട്. എല്‍ഡിഎഫും യുഡിഎഫും ചെയ്യുന്നത് അവര്‍ കൃത്യമായി പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒരുകാലത്തും ഇടതുപക്ഷം ജാനു ഉന്നയിച്ച വിഷയങ്ങളെ പിന്തുണച്ചിട്ടില്ല. 1996-ല്‍ ഇടതുമുന്നണിയുടെ ഭരണകാലത്താണ് പെസ നിലവില്‍ വരുന്നത്. തോമസ് ഐസകിന്റെ അന്നത്തെ മറുപടി ഇങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു, ഇവിടെയും ആദിവാസികളുണ്ട്. അവര്‍ വ്യത്യസ്തരല്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് കേരളത്തിലേക്ക് പെസ വന്നില്ല. മുത്തങ്ങ സമരം വേണ്ടി വന്നു പെസയെ മലയാളിക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാന്‍ എകെജി സെന്ററിലോ കിലയിലോ പെസയുടെ കോപ്പി പോലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. ഇടതുപക്ഷം തുടര്‍ച്ചയായി ആദിവാസികളോട് പുറംതിരിഞ്ഞു നിന്നു. ആദിവാസികളുടെ ആവശ്യങ്ങളോട് യുഡിഎഫ് പൊതുവേ അനുകൂല സമീപനം സ്വീകരിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും ഒത്തുതീര്‍പ്പ് വ്യവസ്ഥകള്‍ കാറ്റില്‍പ്പറത്തി. ഭരണകൂടം നീതി പുലര്‍ത്താത്തത് കൊണ്ട് മുത്തങ്ങ സംഭവിച്ചു. മുത്തങ്ങയില്‍ നല്‍കിയ ഉറപ്പുകള്‍ അംഗീകരിക്കാത്തത് കൊണ്ട് നില്‍പ്പ് സമരം വേണ്ടി വന്നു. ഈ രണ്ട് മുന്നണികളേയും മാറ്റി നിര്‍ത്തിയാല്‍ എന്‍ഡിഎയ്ക്ക് ചെയ്യാന്‍ കഴിയുന്ന ചില കാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്. വനാവകാശവും പെസയും നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്ന കാര്യത്തില്‍ കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ പങ്ക് വലുതാണ്. ഇങ്ങനെ ചില പ്രതീക്ഷകള്‍ ജാനുവിന് ഉണ്ടാകാം. അതൊരു പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട കാര്യമാണ്. ഗോത്രമഹാസഭ ഭരണഘടനാപരമായ വഴികളെ മാത്രമേ സമരങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടുള്ളൂ. സമരങ്ങളെ അക്രമത്തിന്റേയും തീവ്രവാദത്തിന്റേയും വഴികളിലേക്ക് നയിക്കാന്‍ കൂടെയുള്ളവര്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും ജാനു അത് തടഞ്ഞു. ജാനുവിനെ പോലെ കൊള്ളാവുന്നവര്‍ നിയമസഭയില്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത് നല്ലതാണ്.

കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂരില്‍ മത്സരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് വേണുവിനെ പ്രതിക്കൂട്ടില്‍ നിര്‍ത്തുകയില്ല. കാരണം ഒരു നക്‌സലൈറ്റ് എന്ന ബാനര്‍ അദ്ദേഹം വലിച്ചു കീറേണ്ടതുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന്റെ മുഖ്യധാരയിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതിന് ഇലക്ട്രല്‍ പൊളിറ്റിക്‌സില്‍ വരേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ജെ എസ് എസിന്റെ ബാനറില്‍ മത്സരിച്ചത്. അന്ന് വേണുവിന് നല്‍കിയ ആനുകൂല്യം ഇപ്പോള്‍ ജാനുവിനും നല്‍കണം.

രാം: ബുദ്ധിജീവികളിലെ അസഹിഷ്ണുതയാണോ ജാനുവിന് എതിരെയുള്ള എതിര്‍പ്പ്

സിവിക്: ആക്ടിവിസം സോഷ്യല്‍ നെറ്റ് വര്‍ക്കുകളിലെ ലൈക്കുകളിലും ഷെയറുകളിലും പരിമിതപ്പെടുകയാണ്. സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റിന് മുന്നിലെ നില്‍പ്പ് സമരം അനന്തമായി തുടരണം എന്നാണ് ചിലര്‍ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ആദിവാസികളല്ല; അവര്‍ക്ക് അങ്ങനെ സമരം നടത്താനുമാകില്ല. എന്‍ജിഒകള്‍ക്കോ വീട്ടില്‍ കാശുള്ള ആദര്‍ശവാദികള്‍ക്കോ ഏറെക്കാലം സമരം നടത്താം. ആദിവാസികളും ദളിതരും അങ്ങനെയല്ല. അനന്തമായി സമരം നടത്തണമെന്നാണ് തിരുവനന്തപുരം സമരത്തെ പിന്തുണച്ചവരില്‍ ഒരു വിഭാഗം ആഗ്രഹിച്ചത്. അവരെ ഹതാശരാക്കി ജാനു സമരം അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചു. സര്‍ക്കാരുമായോ പൊതുസമൂഹമായോ ആദിവാസികള്‍ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതും ഇടപെടുന്നതും ഐഡിയലിസ്റ്റുകള്‍ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചില്ല. നക്‌സലൈറ്റ് പ്രസ്ഥാനം തകര്‍ന്നപ്പോള്‍ അതിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് തിരിച്ചു പോകാന്‍ അച്ചിവീടുകളും വലിയ വീടുകളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു ചിലര്‍ക്ക്. തറവാട്ടുകാരേയും അത് കാര്യമായി ബാധിച്ചില്ല. അവരെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം ദാര്‍ശനികമായ പ്രത്യയ ആശുപത്രി മാത്രമായിരുന്നു നക്‌സലൈറ്റ് പ്രസ്ഥാനം. പക്ഷേ, തിരിച്ചു പോകാനാകാത്ത, അച്ഛന്‍മാരുടെയോ അമ്മമാരുടെയോ വീടുകളില്ലാത്ത ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് ആളുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. കാഷ്വല്‍ ലീവ് എടുത്തല്ല അവര്‍ സമരത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തിരുന്നത്. സമരശേഷം സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ലാവണത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചു പോയ ധീര വിപ്ലവകാരികള്‍ ഇപ്പോഴുമുണ്ട്. കേരളമാകെ നടന്നു കളിച്ചിട്ടും ഭാസുരേന്ദ്രബാബുവിന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജോലി നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് സാധാരണ മധ്യ വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ചാവേറോ ബലിയാടോ ആകണം ജാനുവെന്ന് നമ്മള്‍ ശഠിക്കരുത്. ഒരു ആദിവാസി, ജാനുവിനെ വിധിക്കാന്‍ നമ്മളാരാണ്?

ഇന്ത്യ ഏറെ മാറി; അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം അടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തുന്നതില്‍ വന്‍വര്‍ധന

ദേശവിരുദ്ധ മുദ്രാവാക്യങ്ങള്‍ മുഴക്കിയെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ച് ജെഎന്‍യുവിലെ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളുടെ പേരില്‍ രാജ്യദ്രോഹക്കുറ്റം ചുമത്തിയതു മുതല്‍ ഛത്തീസ്ഗഢില്‍ മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടെ നേര്‍ക്കുണ്ടായ ആക്രമണം വരെ- ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ വളരെ മോശം വര്‍ഷമാണിത്.



2016-ന്റെ ആദ്യ മൂന്നു മാസം കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ 19 പേര്‍ക്കെതിരെ 11 രാജ്യദ്രോഹ കുറ്റങ്ങളാണ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടു വര്‍ഷങ്ങളിലും ഇക്കാലയളവില്‍ ഒരു കേസ് പോലും രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിരുന്നില്ലെന്ന് ദ ഹൂട്ട് തയ്യാറാക്കിയ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ പറയുന്നു.  ജെഎന്‍യുവിലെ ആറ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ക്കെതിരെ രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്ത രാജ്യദ്രോഹ കേസിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് രാജ്യത്തുടനീളം ഈ വകുപ്പില്‍പ്പെടുത്തി നിരവധി കേസുകളാണ് ഉണ്ടായത്. കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് ഉപാധ്യക്ഷന്‍ രാഹുല്‍ ഗാന്ധി മുതല്‍ ഹൈദരാബാദില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള എംപിയായ അസദുദ്ദീന്‍ ഒവൈസി വരെ ഈ കേസില്‍പ്പെട്ടു.രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാര്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്ന മാനനഷ്ടക്കേസുകളുടെ എണ്ണവും ഈ മൂന്ന് മാസത്തിനിടെ കുതിച്ചുയര്‍ന്നു. 27 കേസുകള്‍. അതേസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷം ഈ കാലപരിധിയില്‍ കേവലം രണ്ട് കേസുകള്‍ മാത്രമാണ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിരുന്നത്. ഇതേകാലയളവില്‍ രാജ്യത്ത് വിവിധയിടങ്ങളില്‍ മാധ്യമ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്കു നേര്‍ക്ക് ആക്രമനമുണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. മാധ്യമ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ ആക്രമിക്കുകയും അവരുടെ വസ്തുവകകള്‍ നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത 14 സംഭവങ്ങളാണ് ഇക്കാലയളവിലുണ്ടായിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഫെബ്രുവരിയില്‍ സുല്‍ത്താന്‍പൂരില്‍ ജനസന്ദേശ് ടൈംസിന്റെ ബ്യൂറോ ചീഫായ കരുണ്‍ മിശ്ര വെടിയേറ്റ് മരിച്ചു. ഛത്തീസ്ഗഢിലാകട്ടെ രണ്ട് മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ അറസ്റ്റിലായി. ജെഎന്‍യു പ്രക്ഷോഭം റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തിരുന്ന ഒമ്പത് മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ ഡല്‍ഹി പൊലീസ് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യാന്‍ വിളിപ്പിച്ചുവെന്ന വാര്‍ത്തയുടെ പിന്നാലെയാണിത് വന്നത്. ഛത്തീസ്ഗഢിലെ മാവോയിസ്റ്റ് ബാധിത ജില്ലയായ ബസ്തറില്‍ ഒരു മാധ്യമ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകന്‍ പോലും ഭയമോ സമ്മര്‍ദ്ദമോ ഇല്ലാതെ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെന്ന് എഡിറ്റേഴ്‌സ് ഗില്‍ഡ് തന്നെ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവിടെ മാവോയിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ ഭീഷണിക്കൊപ്പം സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ നിരീക്ഷണവും മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടെ മേലുണ്ട്. ഫോണ്‍ പൊലീസ് ചോര്‍ത്തുന്നതിനാല്‍ ഫോണിലൂടെ സംസാരിക്കാന്‍ ഏവരും മടിക്കുകയാണ്. റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടര്‍മാരെ ആക്രമിക്കുകയും കള്ളക്കേസില്‍ കുടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സംഘങ്ങള്‍ വിലസ്സുമ്പോഴാണ് മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ പൊലീസ് നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്.കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടു വര്‍ഷങ്ങളുമായി താരതമ്യപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോള്‍ ഈ വര്‍ഷം സെന്‍സര്‍ഷിപ്പ് കേസുകളിലും വര്‍ദ്ധനവുണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. 2015-ലെ ആദ്യ ത്രൈമാസപാദത്തില്‍ രണ്ട് സംഭവങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രമാണുണ്ടായത്. എന്നാല്‍ ഈ വര്‍ഷം അത് 17 ആണ്. സര്‍ക്കാരിനെ വിമര്‍ശിക്കരുതെന്ന് ഉര്‍ദു എഴുത്തുകാരോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടതു മുതല്‍ ഹരിയാനയില്‍ മനുഷ്യ ദൈവം ഗുര്‍മീത് റാം റഹിം കൗറിനെ പരിഹസിച്ചതിന് കൊമേഡിയന്‍ കിക്കു ശാര്‍ദയെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്ത സംഭവം വരെയുണ്ട്. അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനുമേലുള്ള ആക്രമണം പുതിയത് അല്ലെങ്കിലും ഈ ആക്രമണത്തിന് പിന്നിലെ താല്‍പര്യം മറ്റൊന്നാണ്. എതിര്‍ശബ്ദങ്ങളെ ഒതുക്കുക മാത്രമല്ല സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശമെന്ന് ജെഎന്‍യു വിഷയത്തില്‍ നിരീക്ഷകര്‍ പറയുന്നു. ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതിനെ ഒതുക്കുകയാണ് ലക്ഷ്യമെന്ന് സര്‍വകലാശാലകള്‍ക്കുമേലുള്ള തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ ആക്രമണം സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് അവര്‍ പറയുന്നു. 

Panama Papers: David Cameron admits profiting from fund

British Prime Minister David Cameron has admitted he benefitted from the offshore investment fund set up by his late father.
After days of pressure following the publication of the Panama Papers leak, Cameron said on Thursday he owned a stake in the Blairmore trust, which he sold in 2010 four months before taking office.
"We owned 5,000 units in Blairmore Investment Trust, which we sold in January 2010. That was worth something like £30,000 ($42,000)," Cameron told Britain's ITV television.

 

Hamza Bendelladj: Is the Algerian hacker a hero?

Depending on who you ask, Hamza Bendelladj is either a Robin Hood-esque hero or a cyber-age hoodlum.
The 27-year-old Algerian computer science graduate will be sentenced on Tuesday in a US court for using a computer virus to steal money from more than 200 American banks and financial institutions. He then reportedly gave millions of dollars to Palestinian charities.
Bendelladj, who is alleged to be the co-creator of a banking trojan horse called SpyEye, was indicted in absentia by US authorities in 2011. The program - a malware toolkit that saw its popularity peak between 2009 and 2011 - is believed to have infected more than 1.4 million computers in the US and elsewhere, according to Wired, a San Francisco-based technology magazine. The software enabled users to steal login information for online financial accounts, which they then pillaged.
On Tuesday, Bendelladj, who hails from Tizi Ouzou in Algeria, will be sentenced in court in the US state of Georgia. He has already pleaded guilty and faces a prison sentence of more than 65 years and up to $14m in fines, according to the US Department of Justice.

It took two years for Bendelladj, known in the online world as Bx1, to be apprehended. Authorities in Thailand arrested him on their soil and extradited him to the US in 2013. He was dubbed the "happy hacker" because he was photographed smiling as he was taken into custody at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport. American law enforcement officers identified Bendelladj when he allegedly sold a copy of the SpyEye virus to an undercover officer for $8,500.
"Bendelladj's alleged criminal reach extended across international borders, directly into victims' homes," said US attorney Sally Quillian Yates, on May 3, 2013, on the same day Bendelladj's 23-count indictment was revealed. It included charges related to wire, bank, and computer fraud.

It happened with Virat Kohli during India’s innings. India couldn’t have afforded such 

mistakes with the ball on a small ground and an extremely good surface, but 

Lendl Simmons, in his first match as a late replacement in the West Indies

 side, took the game away after being let off twice as well. This time, 

off two no balls.

Taking out Chris Gayle was only half the job done. Jasprit Bumrah sent 

the Jamaican back early in the piece, but West Indies reaching the 

semi-finals of the event was by no fluke. Most of their cricketers 

play in the IPL, and Lendl Simmons is practically a local boy with 

Mumbai Indians.

West Indies were revived through Simmons’ partnership with Johnson Charles, 

but he was on 18 when Bumrah took a diving catch off a top edge, only for Ashwin 

to have overstepped the crease. Boundaries and sixes flowed as the partnership 

swelled and the equation continued to ease for West Indies.

The next moment came in the 15th over when Hardik Pandya 

committed the same error as Simmons carved a full toss straight to 

Ashwin at cover after reaching fifty. The replays confirmed India’s 

second error as they were unable to break through anymore.

A slight glimmer reared its head as Ravindra Jadeja settled himself 

under a skier, but his foot was in contact with the boundary as Simmons 

lived on, and remained rooted to the crease at the non-striker’s end 

when Andre Russell smashed the winning six with two balls to spare.

A high-stakes game with spinners unable to grip the ball, chances 

created were to be taken. India fluffed theirs. Simmons took his.
