Color Management: Disabled by Default

Color Management: Disabled by Default

Import a fi le edited in another Adobe application such as
Photoshop or Lightroom and it likely contains an embedded
ICC color profi le. This profi le can tell After Effects
how the colors should be interpreted and appear, instead
of remaining as raw electrical signals.
A fi le called sanityCheck.tif can be found on the book’s
disc; it contains data and color gradients that will help you
understand linear color later in the chapter. Import this
fi le into After Effects and choose File > Interpret Footage >
Main (Ctrl+F/Cmd+F, or context-click instead). The Interpret
Footage includes a Color Management tab.
how this tab appears with the default settings.
Assign Profi le is grayed out because, as the Description
text explains, Color Management is off and color
values are not converted. Color Management is enabled as
soon as you assign a working space.
