our children's story

our children's story

Is that how life is supposed to be? Is it even possible to create an instruction book for life? Is there a single, definable purpose to life that one can fail or succeed at achieving? Is there a right way to live? Or does life have no purpose and everything we do is meaningless? Would it have made any difference if we were never born? Is, “Life‟s a bitch and then you die.” the only life lesson we need to teach our children?
I want to tell you the story of why I started asking myself these questions and what kind of answers I found after half a lifetime of searching. But don‟t worry; I didn‟t take the time to write all this down because I expected you to be dying to hear about every single engrossing detail of my personal life. You‟ll be relieved to know that I‟ve cut out as much of the personal minutiae as possible and still have the story make sense.
I‟m sharing this story because it cuts to the heart of human existence and the meaning of life. You‟re a human and you‟re alive. So this is your story too, and it applies to everything you‟ve done, everything you‟re working on, and everything you hope to achieve before you die.
