FREE GHEE FOR
NEW MUMS
In order to help address theissue of post-natal anaemia
among young village women
in Haryana, the state’s chief minister,
Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has
implemented a unique plan. The
newborns’ mothers can take home
a free gift of 1kg pure ghee. The regional
health authorities are overseeing
the execution of the
Surakshit Maa Awards incentive
and they will ensure that the mothers
can collect the one-time gift
when they come with their babies
to government hospitals for postnatal
checkups. Utensils worth
Rs300 will be available as an alternative
gift for those not interested
in the ghee.
