A stunning confirmation of Arp’s claims can also
be seen in the galaxy NGC 7319 (picture right).
This galaxy is shrouded with such heavy dust
clouds that they obscure most of its bright active
nucleus. The galaxy has a redshift of 0.0225.
In front of its opaque gas clouds, or embedded
in the topmost layers of the dust, is a quasar
with a redshift of 2.114.
